The Lost Minmatar Legion - DOTLAN :: EveMaps

The story of The Lost Minmatar Legion is a difficult one to tell, history and myth frequently blend and it's difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins. Legion XV was one of twenty crack Legions raised in the years prior to The Elder War; comprised of the best and most loyal Minmatar soldiers, the Legions represented the best the Tribes had to offer. Many different people from many different backgrounds filled its ranks, from former Pirates, to Republic Military Officers, to the ranks of the Valklears.

After years of preparation the day finally came when war broke out, in a surprise attack the Elder fleet invaded Amarr space and began a campaign of liberation. Each Legion was assigned a specific region where the most resistance was expected, however the tide of battle began to turn against the Minmatar forces. One by one the Legions were wiped out by the defending Amarr forces until just one was left. What happened on that day is not known for certain, what is known is that the Amarrians had Legion XV out manned and out gunned, defeat was a certainty and to this day the Amarr claim to have destroyed Legion XV.

This is however where the Myth starts, it is said by some that Legion XV was not destroyed, that it in fact disappeared altogether off of the Battlefield and thus the myth of The Lost Minmatar Legion was born. For over a year nothing was heard from Legion XV, however something was worrying the Amarr; ships on the outskirts of their space were just disappearing. Eventually one ship made it out alive from such an attack; they described ghost ships, working in packs like the Wolves of Myth. To the Amarr this mysterious force became known as The Wolves of The Stars.

Time passed, and the myth grew, The Lost Minmatar Legion became a legend; avenging angels punishing the Amarr for their evils against the Minmatar people and then, in a surprise move the Legion moved out into the open. It is unknown weather the current organization known as The Lost Minmatar Legion actually has any ties to Legion XV, what is known is they are crack pilots with a strong sense of morality. Feared by their foes, admired by their peers they quickly made a name for themselves.

It is said in some circles that the Legion answers only to the Elders, some believe that the secretive and mythological organization were saved by the Elders and now serve as their right hand, no one really knows the Legion’s purpose and the Legion is not forthcoming. They leave only this message to their foes; “We are The Children of Matar. We are the Wolves of the Stars. We are Legion. Fear Us. Fear The Tribes.”
