Description

u'"Freedom is neither anarchy nor domination. It is the ability of ordinary people to build meaningful lives in security."

The Free Systems Defense Collaborative was founded on the belief that freedom is often misunderstood.

Some believe freedom is simply the absence of government. Others believe it is achieved through complete order and centralized authority. History shows that both extremes fail.

Without institutions, the strong prey upon the weak. Criminal organizations, pirates, warlords, and private interests become governments in all but name. The result is not liberty, but insecurity.

Yet governments can themselves become oppressive. Bureaucracy, corruption, authoritarianism, and concentrated political or corporate power can reduce citizens to subjects, replacing one form of domination with another.

FSDC rejects both extremes.

We believe that genuine freedom exists only where responsible institutions protect the ability of ordinary individuals to live, work, trade, explore, and prosper without fear of either criminal violence or arbitrary authority.

For this reason, FSDC generally supports the democratic ideals of the Gallente Federation and its long tradition of self-determination. Though imperfect, constitutional government remains the best safeguard against both anarchy and tyranny.

We likewise recognize the Minmatar struggle as one of the clearest examples of a people\'s legitimate claim to liberty, self-government, and freedom from enslavement, while believing that the society they build must itself remain accountable to those it claims to liberate.

Support does not imply unquestioning loyalty.

The Gallente Federation and the Minmatar Republic are strongest when they protects liberty rather than expanding power for their own sake. We therefore support local self-government, accountable institutions, civil liberties, and the right of communities such as Intaki to preserve their own identity within a broader democratic order.

We also reject the false promise that liberation alone guarantees freedom. Throughout history, movements have overthrown one form of domination only to replace it with another. Criminal syndicates, corporate oligarchies, political machines, and authoritarian elites often speak the language of independence while concentrating power in the hands of a privileged few.

Freedom belongs to citizens\u2014not governments, corporations, or revolutionary committees.

FSDC exists to defend free systems against piracy, coercion, invasion, and exploitation while promoting lawful commerce, industry, exploration, and mutual aid.

Our members are faction soldiers aligned with the Gallente/Minmatar cause, miners, industrialists, explorers, and pilots united not by ideology, but by a shared conviction:

That the measure of a society is not how much power its rulers possess, nor how little government it claims to have, but how free ordinary people are to pursue honest work, raise families, build communities, and determine their own futures.

Order without liberty is oppression.

Liberty without order is chaos.

Between them lies the work worth defending.'
