You cannot justify going afk during a cycle for a mining lazer and then get mad when you get shot, A PvPer cannot go afk then expect to get some form of gain. Gain should be made from work not from afk mining your about as good as a bot

Miners dont need to "Defend themselves"
by simply adding some passive defences they can withstand alot of ganks

Ganking is something that is enjoyable by alot of people, CCP will not nerf something that has branched out to the whole of eve as a enterprise which isk can be made from by anyone.
Ganking can be a competivite drive for industry.
Loss of Ship = Created Demand

Narrow minded highsecers should start to realise eve isnt made for them
