A CreoDron expedition\u2014small, well-funded, and quietly sanctioned by Federation Navy observers\u2014crossed into Anoikis chasing traces of an ancient signal: a pale spectral signature found deep in relic site blackboxes, referred to only as Pallidus.

When the expedition failed to report in, it was erased.
The Navy denied involvement. Aliastra wiped the logs.
Officially: \u201cNo record found.\u201d
Unofficially: Someone returned.

Fragments of data, pieces of code, corrupted telemetry\u2014but enough. Enough to know something was out there. Enough to convince a few surviving capsuleers to start again.
