The Federation is beset on all sides by enemies. To the south, the Amarr threaten with fleets that block out the stars. To the north stands the Caldari State, flying state of the art ships of war. And to the west the Intaki Syndicate continues to harbor criminals and terrorists.

Meanwhile, thanks to President Foiritain's policies, the Federation is more vulnerable than ever before. While others prepare for war, the Gallente Navy is under funded and ill equipped to fight a major war. If war becomes a certainty, this should change, albeit slowly.

Regardless, it becomes clear that if war comes, and it will come, the hope of the Federation lies where it always has, with the spirit and power of the Gallente people. The Durandal Organization was founded to this end, to fight, and if necessary die to defend the ideals and glory of the Federation.
