de'Lune Industrial and Mining Group was founded in the spring of YC 27 by Gregoire de'Lune, who started with a small workshop manufacturing hydraulic parts for the common ships of the Caldarian Navy.
Due to a serious illness, in late YC 68 he finally handed over the business to his son, Alastair de'Lune who further developed the Company to become a major industrial player in the Caldarian industry. In particular, the Company became a preferred supplier to the Caldarian Navy, manufacturing state-of-the-art propulsion systems and hybrid turrets.
However, Alastair de'Lune's ambitions and the growth of the Company led to an Initial Public Offering at the Jita Stock Exchange. The de'Lune family business became a public stock corporation in Summer of YC 78, the same year his daughter
Claire was born.
The following years were rather successful and the Company diversified also into Mining Technology and the Transportation business. However, the success story came to an aprupt halt in March YC 108 when Alastair de'Lune got killed in an assault while being on a business trip.
The killing of Alastair de'Lune was ordered by the Vice President of the Company (for further information see press coverage on the trial) who was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without parole. A few months after the trial his family died in a tragic accident.
Without Alastair de'Lune, the Company faced enormous difficulties as some major clients withdrew from making business with the Company which finally led to severely dropping stock prices. Within this challenging environment
Claire took over the position as General Manager with the help of her younger brothers
Altair and
Nicolas. Together they managed to cut the Company to a reasonable size (far from its former glories, but still sufficient enough as a family business) and took the Company from the Stock Exchange. Since YC 120 de'Lune Industrial and Mining Group is again a privately owned company.
As of today, de'Lune family business is a diversified industrial group active in Mining and manufacturing of industrial and military goods supplemented by a range of critical services like transportation (just-in-time delivery).
