The Topal navy is the branch of the alliance's armed forces principally designated for space warfare. It includes anything conducted by combat (battle)ships, logistic, stealth(recon), and electronic warfare, as well as capital support, scouting, training, and other fields; recent developments have included black ops related operations.

The strategic offensive role of this navy is projection of force into areas beyond the alliance controlled systems (for example, to protect trade-lanes during war, guard logistics operations in enemy controlled systems, or attack other navies, POSs, or outpost and stations). The strategic defensive purpose of this navy is to frustrate projection-of-force by enemies.
