Description
Some people think space mining is boring.
I am strapped into twenty thousand tonnes of Tritanium welded into the shape of a ship, inadequate engines vibrate through the hull and into the coarse fabric of my seat. I hear their hum trying to lull me to sleep while panicked sweat drips from my brow onto the scanning console I repeatedly check.
It has been quiet today in this remote part of the void. Quiet except for the scream of my lasers cutting through pure profit. A metallic groan from the supports in my hold, bloated from the treasure I have collected.
Three names pop into the local network. I dont know these people. Public data shows them from the same corporation but they are far from home. The rubber keys have long ago faded on my console that shows no new ships in range.
Suddenly three targets appear in the belt with me. Sanshas. I still dont see my 'friends' on the scanner but everyone knows it doesnt take this long to travel between gates.
This rock is almost mine. I have choices but will I make the right one, will I wake up somewhere else, a new me?
Some people think space mining is boring.
