Founded in YC1114 Corvus Technologies was established at the initiative of the Caldari Steel mega-corporation as an external deep-space exploration and research agency in the aftermath of the Inferno drug discovery. Unwilling to miss out on the potential of this discovery, but also at the same time without any real experience in exploration and hesitating to intrude directly unto the turf of the major Caldari research mega-corporations, Caldari Steel's CEO Tairos Koikiainen decided to fund an external solution to this conundrum in the form of CVTEC.

After initial discussion with potential explorers in the Kakakela system, CS decided, in a somewhat vain attempt of secrecy, to base the new corporation out of the Kaala constellation in Lonetrek and thus almost as far as possible from the CS Headquarters at Abagawa and Caldari Steel's main rival Perkone as possible, while still in secure Caldari space. Following an initial phase of direct control, operations were finally handed over to a faciliator between the two corparations named Lucian Anell, a promising SAK graduate, in mid YC1114.

CVTEC itself, reminiscent of an ancient, almost deteriorated recording, follows a simple creed - also called after an unearthed ancient recording the "Team F2 Creed" - based on three principles:

- Be polite.
- Be efficient.
- Have (at least) a plan to kill everyone you meet.
