Established by the first holder of the Khamsi Household early in its reign over Edani Vi, the Office of the Lady Almoner (Currently Marquess
Odelia Khamsi, aunt of Duchess of Edani VI:
Katherine Khamsi) is responsible for the recommendation of courses of action that benefit the working poor of Edani VI, and Penirgman (Where can be found the holdings of Contessa
Liana Khamsi,) in conjunction with all other bodies of in service to the Duchess Khamsi in her ruler-ship of House Khamsi's Duchy.
Further, the Lady Almoner is responsible for the yearly design and minting of silver coins paid to the elderly of Edani VI as Maundy Monies. These pure silver coins in denominations of .5, .10, .20 and .50 are administered yearly by the Khamnsi Households to the aged and infirm, in service to the teachings of love and charity espoused by the Royal Khanid Church, and H.R.M King Khanid the Second. Further the printing of the annual Winter Saint's gift catalog (a publication allowing parents to select a traditional toy and hard cover, woodblock illuminated storybook from a curated list free of charge, to ensure children needn't go without,) is performed by the Office of the Almoner. Whom also designates, with input of the sitting Duchess and her Courtiers, additions to the list of storybooks, and the selection of artists to produce each new books illuminations.
The position of Lady Almoner is traditionally appointed to a member of the broader Khamsi family who has entered into the clergy as a means of serving their ancestral land and family. Though not compulsory, they have historically been childless spinsters, so as to ensure freedom from concerns that could obfuscate their judgement in serving the poor and infirm, and to provide a feminine counterpart to the court's Chaplain.
