Description
Purpose
The Open I exists to prepare for the forthcoming collapse of Eve's galactic society.
Method
The Open I's best tool is negotiation, but it doesn't hesitate to fight when the occasion requires it.
Objective
The old and moribund moral ideals, which have for so long vulgarised Eve's galactic culture, draw that culture now to the point of collapse. The nether nine-tenths of the galaxy's capsuleers have unlearned modesty and puffed their needs up into moral ideals. Pity for the lowly has become the measure of the height of a soul. In this way, they have disfigured the whole of galactic society. Their ideal, that the mediocre are worth more than the exceptions, has vulgarised the whole of existence.
Everywhere, gigantic blob fleets coalesce to drag down the superior capsuleer, while timorous herds of the inferior band together in corporations of a thousand or more to resist him. So far as the frightened mass is dominant it bullies the exceptions.
Everything that protects Eve's weakest capsuleers or serves the ends of its "Ordinary Pilots" or "Majority" works in favour of the dominion of the inferior men. The Open I exists to bring this affair to the bar of judgement and set up in its place the doctrine of the order of rank.
The Amarr doctrine of the order of rank, based from the outset on the most mendacious religious bilge, has become even further disfigured by a shabby obsession with race. Are their high now so alike in spirit to the canaille that they can distinguish themselves only by relation to another race? Have the Amarr now so many sins to expunge that they require a whole race of scapegoats? The ancestors of all whom we call noble were once barbarians. Greatness is an honour we accord to the rare cases of great power of will; it has no connection to race.
The Gallente Federation would revenge itself on the galaxy by dragging its noblest down into the insipid morass of democracy. The vast bulk of capsuleers are, at best, only a means to our own excellence. What is democracy but the subordination of the best to the needs of the least? The Gallente doctrine of democracy would level the best with the worst, in a quagmire of mediocrity. Against it, the Open I sets the doctrine of rank. This is simply the doctrine that a society should exist not for the sake of that society but only as the scaffolding upon which its great may rise themselves.
