House Ginaz was a loyal ally of House Atreides. After the War of Assassins, many tutors from its Swordmaster School were killed or scattered. Those who had escaped wandered the universe, seeking a noble cause to employ their skills.

Some of them found this purpose in the capsuleer alliance Sanctuary Pact. Here, they trained soldiers who spurned the mercenary lifestyle, to fight instead for a nobler purpose in battle. They answered this calling as the new Swordmasters of the Ginaz.
