JumpRange Tool Update

September 26th, 2009

Highsec ConnectionsBased on the idea from Kirith Kodachi in his last comment about the jump range/planner, I just added a new feature. If you use the jump range tool, systems with a highsec connection will gets highlighted (HighSec Connections). In the Jump Options you can also filter for them to only show those systems.

I hope that helps planning your logistic trips.

Bloody nice! You’re really making a handy tool Wollari! Keep up the good work!

And if you EVER leave eve, don’t let it die. 🙂

  2. ok, I think you misunderstood me. Although seeing which system are adjacent to high sec is very handy and something I had not thought of, what I’m looking for in the jump range planner is actual high sec systems in range of the selected system.

The reason is that jump frieghters can jump out of high sec directly so when planning a route into 0.0 I’ll start at the destination and see what high sec systems would be good jumping off points. Then your new innovation comes into play for planning the jump back (very handy btw).

also, bug report: with the “High Sec Connections” box unchecked the pressing of GO seems to do nothing 🙁

    THANKS!

Okay I see how’re thinking, but there’re problems with your thinking. It may be possible that the highsec system is in jumprange, but the way back perhabs not. Atm I won’t confuse people with showing highsec systems in the list of systems in range, that’s the other point.

Of course you can start planning your journey out of a highsec system, but from low/null into highsec space.

If I would have to add them, i would need to recalculate my complete cache and it could hit the performance because then Highsec Systems would be included in the calculation and in the list of systems in jump range before they get excluded.

      We’ll see.

      svn merge -r 67:68 […]/evemaps/trunk
svn commit -m”Applied Patch [68] for jumprange bug with saving jump preferences”
      […]
      Committed revision 69.

aka … fixed in trunk (dev) and live branch 🙂

  3. Side note: I do love that high sec connections option in the jump range planner for plotting the route back. Brilliant!
