Jump Planner Addition & Dominion 1.1

January 26th, 2010

Welcome fellas in the new laggy year 2010 🙂 As CCP deployed Dominion 1.1 during my vacation, I just updated the Supercarriers and their jump range for in the heavily used jump planner. But that’s not all:

Out of the comments and requests of the last blog post, I found one feature really interesting and missing completely in all current jump planning tools.

The Jump Portal Fuel Calculator:

Mostly Black Ops pilots have the problem of the fuel bay which is always to small to do anything meanful. The fuel needed for bridging ships is mostly a big unknown in risky situations deep in nullsec space.  If you’re planning a trip using the jump planner and you’re selection a ship which is capable of bridging other ships, you’ll get the possibility to add the ships to the final calculation and get the result how much fuel you and your guests are consuming. That applies for Titans and Jump Bridges as well.

I hope the calculation is correct and you’re all happy with the interface and functionality.

Example: Black Ops Bridge: 4 Manticore, 4 Hound, 1 Falcon

    As always; you are awesome!

Very nice Feature… I guess that means I can delete my spreadsheet now

We’re busy moving a bunch of ships from highsec to nullsec, (via lowsec) was wondering is it possible to bridge across mackinaws and hulks? i dont see that option in the tool

If you’re using a titan to jump ships then it’s possible to also bridge mining barges. Black Ops Ships can only bridge ships with jumpHarmonics 2 (Covert Ops, Stealth Bomber, Force Recon, Covert Hauler and Black Ops itself)

    • nStedt says:

A Rorqual can take industrial ships and barges/exhumers in its ship maint array. I dont know if this is relevant in your case?

  4. Good job again Wollari 🙂

Hey Wollari. long time no fly with.

As you might remember, I did a lot of Black ops bridging. So I have a calculator of my own.

I did some double checking on the fuel usage of yours compared to my own. And your numbers are bang on. And they are represented in game as well.

Thanks for the addition! I was going to make an online calculator of my own for everyone’s use, but no point now!

    Hi there,
I’m just wondering, what Jump Portal Generation skill lvl you use for calculations? 0? 1? I think it would be nice to add additional select for it 🙂

Great service anyway, enjoy it a lot

The Jump Portal Generation Skill effects the activation energy used by the portal generator. It’s not really important for BlackOps Pilots cause it will only affect their cap. The big titan jump portal generator needs strontium to be activated (which is mainly affected by this skill).

To be frank, if I really would make the calculation complete if would need the cyno pilots skills plus his ship to calculate the amount of liquid ozone which is beeing used aswell. But in my opinion this would be too much. Every pilot should know the ozone usage for his cyno and especially titan pilots should know their strontium needs.

btw. not always everything works like in the calculator. Especially for Titan Jump Bridges, cause you never know how many plates, etc people have put on their Ravens to modify the mass. It’s more a a calculator to give yourself an idea abour your capabilites.

No, skill description says ‘Skill for the generation of jump portals to distant solar systems. 10% reduced material cost for jump portal activation per level.’ and when i started to use BO i checked consumption at different skill lvls and i’ve got different results. same fitted manticores at same distance took 204 lvl1, 181 lvl2, 169 lvl3 or something like that.

        • Wollari says:

You missed the important word in the description. It’s named jump portal *activation*. That’s the cost to activate the module and not the bridging fuel costs. The fuel cost are based on the base fuel consumtion of your ship with your jump fuel skills.

          • Haart says:

damn 🙂 just checked it ingame – you’re right, consumption is equal to calculated, it seems i’ve been training conservation and jump portal skill at the same time when i did tests 🙂

thanks for opening my eyes o/

      • Millsy1 says:

They actually removed the cap cost from the skill text, as they never did have it actually use cap (on the black ops).
With a cyno gen, you can sit there making black holes all day 🙂
