DOTLAN EveMaps 3 successfully deployed

March 30th, 2011

After a couple hours of deploying, hot fixing, debugging, using ccp logserver (which is the only way to debug JavaScript stuff in the ingame browser) the majority of work is done. DOTLAN EveMaps 3 (or whatever version suits you)  is ready to rock and roll.

Have fun using it, [like] the sov losses (change) of your enemy or bookmark your favorite systems. User registration is enabled (even Twitter has some OAuth authentication problems atm).

The full ChangeLog is linked below

    Excellent update. Thank you.

  3. Dotlan fan says:

    Great JOB wollari!
    i really appreciate your work.

  4. Cesar Malari says:

How public are ‘public’ jump bridge networks? Someone still needs the token to view/use it, right?

    • Wollari says:

Exactly. You must know the token/key to access the jb network. The security is similar to those who copy&paste the data from your alliance board.

      • Daquaris says:

How does one ‘subscribe’ to a private JB list?

        • Wollari says:

If you’re logged in, you go to the link of someones bridge network (/brigde/) and you’ll find a subscribe button on the top right of the network.

The network must be “Public” todo so. “Private” is for personal use only. Maybe I should rename it to “Personal” and “Shared” to avoid confusion.

  5. Nagapito says:

    Awesome job!!

Dotlan seems lighter and faster even with all the new stuff!
    Keep doing a great work!

  6. Jeckerson says:

Now in Navigation Tools doesn’t work ‘Alternative Jump System’ i can only see ajax loading of systems and frase: ‘Building table/list of systems’. Please fix it.

  7. Daool says:

I recently found myself unable to view the DOTLAN map pages in IE (most of page loads except the actual map itself which just….isn’t there).

Asking in game it seems a few IE users have the issue also.

    Has this been mentioned?

  8. Oleh says:

After the update something wrong happened to maps in route planner mode. It used to show normal map of the route step by step and now it shows the map of whole universe in one picture. The same with jump planner and jump range mode.

    • Wollari says:

My magic crystal ball tells me, you’re using internet explorer (which is using a different technology). Anyway: I found something that got fixed. I hope that you’re now able to use the maps as intended.

If you’ve still problems, please send me a mail with more details (links, browser, etc).

      • Oleh says:

Yes, you where right, I was using internet explorer. Evrything is shown correctly in opera or ingame browser. thanx a lot!

  9. Bossanova says:

Pagination problems in alliance list when not using the default sort order. Go to alliances – select ALL and change sort order to name – then click page 15 or whatever – even though the link show ?o=name in the URL it is resets to default order (number of outposts)

Ive been playing eve for over 2 years now, and since day one my CEO at the time pointed me towards dotlan. Such a great resource.

I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you put in, some really great people in the eve community. o/

  11. Bon Jovi Fan says:

Are the JB tokens encrypted? Or do have access to all of the JB’s in EVE? I don’t want to be scared. Otherwise your the beesknees.

    • Wollari says:

The token are just the access key and private to yourself. When you set a JB network to Public/Shared it’s accessible for everyone who knows this url/token and to those with who you share it.

  12. Anx says:

Hey thanks a lot for this epic service. Without Dotlan I would be lost!

  13. Nagapito says:

Would it be possible to, when we see the favourites list, get the items with links to the object page?

    • Wollari says:

I’ll put this on my ‘todo’ list 🙂 should be easy

      • Nagapito says:

Also, when we see the region map, if we mid-clicked on a system it would open the map on a new tab. Now it does nothing!

What would be awesome was opening again on a new tab but instead of the map, opening the system page!

        Yes, I’m a freak mid-click-open-in-new-tab browser user 😛

        • Wollari says:

There will be an update out soon. A brand new context menu which even works with the ingame browser and even on maps. This will enable you to right click a system -> open in a new tab.

I’ll think about the mid-click aswell.

I seem to have trouble registering. I’m not receiving a mail allowing me to confirm the address (?).

    • Wollari says:

Your mail got accepted from your provider for delivery. Maybe you wanna check your provider or your spam box.

      • Daool says:

Ummm, the address is a hotmail address and shows zero mails. Hmmm.

        • Wollari says:

I send you an email this morning to the email address you used in your blogpost and in the registration. If you didn’t got the mail please contact your provider, use a different email, write me an evemail or email me directly to sort out this issue.
