Current state of the corporation management tools

The tools are currently in a beta state and only selected corporations are testing the waters. I’ll publically announce if I’ll allow more beta tester or release it to the public.

How do I get access to my corporation tools

1. Register yourself on DOTLAN EveMaps
2. Generate a new API Key (preferable Account) on https://support.eveonline.com/api
   Your old limited/full API Key won’t work!
3. Add your API Keys to your account (all keys including your alts).
1. Give the backend some time to initialize your keys. (New keys are initialized every 5 minutes)
4. After the Keys are “Valid” you can “Verify” API Key with an ingame action.
1. Since you create multipe keys for every Character you must verify your API key to ensure you’re the rightful owner and not somebody trying to get access to your corporation management tools.
2. Check the API Key Details. You’ll find instructions how to verify your key using either Wallet/ISK transaction or via EveMail.
3. Make sure you’re using the right Character for the transaction/mail verification. Only the character that’s linked with your custom API Key is allowed to verify your key.
4. Since we’ve to wait for EveMail & Wallet APIs to update the database this verify process can take up to 30 minutes.
5. Repeat this process for every API key you’ve entered
5. You can now enter the corporation management tools. Here you’ve to allow the corporation access to your account and api keys. Without this confirmation you and your corporation will not be able to use your data. Without this confirmation you won’t get access either. You can revoke this permission at any time.

Access Rights & Roles

The access rights to the various modules in the corp management tools are bundled with the access rights of your ingame character. If one of your characters is a director ingame you’ll have full rights in the corp tools aswell. If you’re a starbase caretaker you’ll be able to access the starbase listing and details here aswell. Access to the AssetViewer is similar. If you’ve read only access to “all” hangar sections you’ll have access to the online asset viewer aswell.

Wrong fuel usage numbers on starbases

[OUTDATED] Since CCP change starbases to use fuel blocks, there’s no need anymore for fuel calculation based on CPU/PG.

The starbases and the fuel usage is managed and calculated completely automatic. The starbase listing is updated every 6 hours (api cache timer). The fuel usage is calculated on the real usage basis. The background daemon will compare the pos fuel bays between 2 api calls  to calculate the actual usage. New starbases, changes on the fuel bay (refueling) and starbase configuration changes may take up to 2 hours (2 api calls) to fix the usage calculation and display the real numbers. So don’t be scared directly. Be calm and wait for the next update.

Roles & Titles

The roles overview is simplified compared to the ingame version. The tools completely ignore the various sections (HQ, Base, Other, etc) If the character has a role in one the sections the the role will be highlighted. I hope this will provide you an easy way to get an overview over your corporation. You can do the fine checks ingame for greater detail.

API Keys: Will others in my corporation see and steal my API keys?

No. With confirming access to the corporation management tool you allow the directors of your corporation to see details of your account and the linked API keys. But the important thing: All the vCode field is truncated. They might see the first 16 characters and not the rest. So the truncated key is not useable for them outside of DOTLAN EveMaps.

API Keys: My key is flagged invalid – what now?

This can happen due to bugs/invalid calls on my side, or you have changed your API keys on CCPs server. In the API keys details you’ll find the last error that was logged. If the key is still valid, press the double arrow to reinitialize your API key. Withing 5 minutes the API should be active again. If this was your corporation key, it will take another cycle to rescan the corp management API keys to restart the updates.

Admin: Which API Keys are needed?

For the full functionality you need a valid + verified corporation key with all access levels ticket on and a valid + verified directory character key with notifications and notificationText enabled. If you decided not to provide everything via api, you’ll not be able to use all features the tools providing. If you don’t provide starbase api informations you won’t be able to monitor your starbases.

Essential api methods for the corporation management tools are: CorporationSheet and MemberSecurity. Every other api call will provide you with more informations. Which API will provide me what features:

• CorporationSheet: Basic infos about your corporation, division names, wallet names, etc
• MemberSecurity: Character listings + roles
• MemberTracking: Character listing + join date
• MemberTrackingExtended: Character location + login/logoff timestamps
• Titles: Needed for full Roles&Titles overview
• AccountBalance, WalletJournal: For the wallet tool
• AssetList: Access your assets online
• ContactList: Access your standings
• Notifications, NotificationsText: The notifications are taken from a Character Key, but only the corp relevant notifications are shown in the corp management tool module.
