Some of you might already have seen the new menu point in the top navigation panel. If not – now is the best time to check out the new features. After about 2 weeks of many headaches about routing and path finding algorithms (A*) and browser issues (f**k IE), I’m happy to be able to announce the new section on my evemaps page: Navigation.
This includes a jump planner for capital ships journeys including fuel consumption, a jump range tool to see what systems are in range (incl jump bridges) and last but not least a routing planner for gate to gate navigation. The routing planner has the ability to including possible jump bridg jumps and a calculation for the liquid ozone consumption. To able to visualize the jump and gate routes I also included a new map that will reflect the real New Eden layout additionally the routes are integrated into the already known maps.
Feel free to test it, break it and please give me feedback if everything is working as intended or if something is broken. Many thanks to all who I talked to while getting headaches and those who already tested it.
Here are some screenshots. Enjoy
Great new additons.
Easy and fun to use. appreciate it 🙂
You rock! Another quality service from Dotlan ftw! 🙂
Just one word: awesome!
keep it up =)
OMG This a great addition, I think I’m gonna use this from now on!
Now that is a seriously handy addition! I prefer the clean look of your version as opposed to the original Jump Planner, and the fact it has clicky links to drill down into systems is great.
One question though- on the Jump Range planner in particular, is it possible to add the ability to zoom in? The systems are all cluttered together, especially for a carrier jump with JDC5. Would be very handy to be able to do this.
Keep up the great work!
I’ll see what I can do. Perhabs I get it working with with javascript inside the SVG files. I’ll try to avoid reloading svg/swf images from the server to zoom it to safe traffic and serverload.
You might as well make the “all universe zoomable map” while doing this!
Me likes!
kthxbye!
ohh.. and good work o/
Man, this really gives me a hard-on. Keep the good work coming.
Way to go! You’ve really outdone yourself this time. Keep up the amazing work!
looks real good but found a bug.
on the jump range tool, select the start system, select your ship, select your JC level (5 in my case) hit go and get all the systems in range for JC4, same happens when JC3
Output is always JC4, probably something quick to fit, and as no one yet has reported it I thought I should.
Thank you. I fixed it. It was a typo while checking the request parameters :-/
Very nice little tool. I was pointing it out to the other TKT guys last night and we find it much more useful than the ISCS Jump planner/jump range tool. I like having it integrated with the maps.
Nice addition to the website. You truly are making this a one stop shop for information. Keep up the good work.
Nice Work. And I found a bug:
When jumping into a low sec system with a sec status of -0.45 the jump planner gives the message. The system after the first jump must be lowsec or 0.0, but it is -0.45 (i think the system thinks it is a 0.5 system)
was using a nomad, all skills @ 5
I’ll take a look into it … i know the number of numbers behind the decimal are taking into calculation. 0.449 is lowsec but 0.450 is highsec
Very nice addition, thanks a lot.
One thing that would help a lot imho would be, if you could get High Sec systems in the jump range tool as well. Then you could plan Jump Freighter trips much better. While you can´t to High Sec, you would still be able to plan your way to 0.0/Low Sec.
Thanks anyway 🙂
This would be very useful. We sometimes need to find a hi-sec in jumprange from a specific low-sec. Maybe you could add a checkbox to allow this?
Anyway, great tool, thanks 🙂
Is it possible to add the option from the ingame map? (shortest/safest) cause right now it displays shortest always.
I’ve to rework the complete routing algorythm for the gate to gate routing to include path weight, etc. Perhabs I’ll do it one day and post it as update here. But it’s not that easy.
Currently the gate2gate routing ist simply done with flooding all systems and see if I found the end system.
But I’m pretty sure I’ll update it soon or later.
Just awesome man. The more I use your website the more I like it. That’s a very nice addition… And so much better than the Jumplplanner I v been using until now ! Thanks ^^.
these tools just keep getting better and better. thanks mucho.
a request: is it possible to have a new ‘map’ of just regions showing their links. similar to the ombey eve universe page. maybe clickable to go to that region.
It rounds fuel quantity up. Tribute systems H-W to MSHD should be 615 and 1145 for a Rorqual and Anshar with all 4s but shows as 616 and 1146. Please fix ASAP as this is better than ICSC jump planner.
Fixed it. I wasn’t really sure if CCP would round up (because used is used) or just round it like normal. And before someone has not enough fuel with him during a jump I started to round up first.
Thanks for the clarification.
Did you use round() or floor() because H-W to MSHD in a Rorqual is still showing as 616.
In the first version i used ceil(), then with your first comment i changed it to round() and now finally i use floor() and it shows 615 as fuel usage for the rorqual.
Regarding the jump range tool –
Here are my requests to make this tool really really really awesomely useful (as opposed to current really x 2):
– Ability to filter results to show only systems in a particular region
– Ability to filter results to show only systems with a station
– Ability to filter results to show only systems with a particular sov holder
Cheers!
You should check out Eve-map NG, another one of the goons tools that was just released for public use. Goons had been using the previous version for a couple of years and Lhyda has been updating it regulary, before releasing it for public use the other week.
Features are:
– Jump Bridge route planning, including ozone usage estimation
– Cyno Route Planning, including skill-related calculations.
– Sovereignty updates, using the Eve API
– Configurable “Weighted” route planning, including system avoidance list
– In-game browser support (http://localhost:23455/routes)
– Complete truesec, asteroid, and ice belt details

Was released under the GPL, so source code is available as well.
ist es möglich eine statistik zu haben die anzeigt, wieviele outpos durchschnittlich pro monat gebaut wurden?
Outposts build per month (since my archive is running)
I would like a station system only option on the jump planner
and as I posted on the eve forums. I cant find the button that would let me make the jump route into a pdf or .gif
You can now select “Pass Only Stations Systems”. I’ll try to see if i can add the feature with export jump route as PDF.
one odd note
the route I have made manually is 55.66Ly vs. the 56.05Ly the new button gave. Still, thanks for the button
P.S. Ill post the routes to see for yourself after Ive done the move, rather not have any nasty surprises and lose a new ship 🙂
This is what I made before you added the stations button
https://evemaps.dotlan.net/jump/Thanatos,330/9CG6-H:Vezila:Zatamaka:Schoorasana:Floseswin:Akora:9-KWXC
and this is what the route gave me with the button
https://evemaps.dotlan.net/jump/Thanatos,330,S/9CG6-H:Akora:9-KWXC
hope the info is useful
Sure. It’s possible that some routes can get a better result. That’s the nature of path finding algorythms. You’ve to choose/balance between a fast result or the best/shortest path overall. In the end it’s the calculation time, if it takes 5 seconds to calculate the route or several minutes. You just have tooo many possibilities to calculate and check.
